Why Do We Fight
Why Do We Fight
Why do we fight for the red white and blue?
doesn’t matter now, it’s just another job I gotta do.
Fightin’ for the corporations, fightin for the war,
fightin for the president, God knows what I’m fightin’ for.
Fightin’ and a killin’ to show that I’m a man.
Why do we fight?
We fight because I can!
War is big business now, goal is world domination,
empire, corporatocracy. All around the world,
the deployment of military defence
is what keeps the economy in discontented suspense.
In a polarized society of critics and fans,
why do we fight?
We fight because we can.
JFK, LBJ, Nixon and Reagan
realized the only thing can keep
the nation from sinking
is an arms race where the goal is never enough.
Sooner or later we will find somebody set him up.
Get an easy target, North Korea, Iran.
Why do we fight?
We fight because we can!
Some people never learn. All the oil you can burn
Weather too extreme, and it’s hotter and your dreams
turn to nightmares, living with your insides screaming
cause you wonder why you doing what you doing when you’re scheming.
All the games and lies, gettin outa hand.
Why do we fight?
We fight because we can!
Kumbaya m’lord.
Kumbaya.
