How can this be a response to Lennon's "She Said," with its acid crazed conversation about death, childhood, and ego disintegration?  I decided to examine my own creative process, and how, when it comes face to face with the judgement of the muse, I'm leveled by love. The distortions of dogma, ideology, religion, and philosophy cannot withstand the fact that "love is true and bullshit always walks - get real!"

In the end, two things prevail - practice and kindness.  Whatever we do in the day, this is our practice.  If done with a kind heart, with gratitude, life is easier to endure.

What You Gonna Do Now?

Float on saturation.
Flap with steady wing.
Cloud my cogitation
with astrologic string.

You’re wasting time, oh
whatcha gonna do now?
Still wasting time, oh
whatcha gonna do now?

Grease my agitation.
Parse my leaden fear.
Pull from my imagination
sounds I wanna hear.

You’re wasting time, oh
whatcha gonna do now?
Still wasting time, oh
whatcha gonna do now.

Sometimes I get a frozen mind.
Fear, that creature talks.
My baby hears my big ideas,
says, “lookit here, love is true
and bullshit always walks - get real."

Tempted by salvation.
Walk with steady stride.
Not too fast.  Not too slow.
Hit it every night.

You’re wasting time, oh
whatcha gonna do now?
Still wasting time, oh
whatcha gonna do now?

Still wasting time?
