Lazarus Come Out
Lazarus, Come Out
I was dead to the lie
Of the ruins I had made
Of my life. I was lost
To the burden of my shame.
Then a voice filled my head
In the dark of the night
Saying, "Lazarus oh Lazarus
Come out into the light."
chorus
I was dead, I’m alive.
Jesus raised me from the grave.
He said, “Lazarus, come out.
It’s your soul God will save.â€
From the tomb I slowly walked
To my sister’s waiting arms.
Let the mercy of Love
Keep me safe from sin and harm.
Like a prodigal prophet
I wandered here and there.
With my pride and my reasons
I tried not to care.
And my heart began turning
From flesh into stone.
Til I felt like a dead man
Unloved and alone.
chorus
Now my life it is proof
Of the wonders Love can do.
It can put a broken heart
Back together good as new.
It can take a soul corrupted
By the world’s unholy game
And can turn him into someone
Who can live his life again.
